Location:     Maple Creek Farm is located 2.5 miles east of Augusta, Arkansas, on the north side of U.S. Highway 64.  The farm has one mile of highway frontage.  Maple Creek Farm is approximately 60 miles northeast of Little Rock, Arkansas and approximately 80 miles northwest of Memphis, Tennessee.

 

Acreage:      701.2 Farmland Acres, 567.9 cropland acres, 130 acres of timber and Marsh. The balance is in field roads.

 

Bases:          Total Base Acres – 334.2        Wheat base – 147.5     Corn base – 140.9       Cotton base -10.2        Milo base – 31.6     Soybean base – 4.0

Crops:         One of the most diverse farms in northeast Arkansas, Maple Creek farms is a well established truck and vegetable farm and has the capacity to grow row crops including cotton, wheat, corn, milo and soybeans.  The farm is well loctated on U. S. Highway 64 for high visibility and has a well established clientele.   This year there are 70 acres of watermelons, 55 acres of you pick or harvested pumpkins, 10 acres of cantaloupes, 5 acres of sweet corn, 5 acres of ornamental corn, 1.5 acres of u pick cotton. Peas, tomatoes, okra, on about an acre and a 5 acre corn maze for fall rental. Wheat and soybeans were the row crops.

 

Irrigation:   There are 3 center pivots with wells and one regular irrigation well on the farm. All wells are electric with underground wire. All acres can be drip irrigated for produce crops.  The average static depth of water on this farm is approximately 25 feet.

 

Soils:            All soils on the property are silt loam, sandy loam, or silty clay loam. 90% of the farm is silt loam and sandy loam. These are highly productive soils when moisture is provided during the summer growing season.

 

Hunting:      There are four duck blinds on the property. Maple Creek Farm lies between the White and Cache Rivers. White River NWR and Cache River NWR are only minutes away and the area is renowned for waterfowl hunting. The woods on the farm also have deer and small game in abundance.

 

Notes:          Maple Creek Farms is the most diverse farm we have in our inventory today. The Peebles family has truly given a commitment to their farm and the many people who visit and share the great features of the farm. As of this writing, July 21, 2008, the farm is selling watermelons, purple hull peas, cantaloupes, tomatoes, okra, and beginning this week sweet corn will be picked and sold. This fall the farm will sell bales of straw, ornamental corn stalks, Pumpkins the children can pick for Halloween, cotton the kids can pick for themselves, a corn maze that visitors can try to negotiate, and various other activities that visitors can do and participate in. Tour buses come from all over the area, bringing kids and adults to the farm to sample the country life. The Peebles family and employees try to make the visit a unique experience for each and every guest.  As you may be aware, most city folks have no idea of what farm life is about and Maple Creek Farms objective is to give them the experience and joy, for a few hours, of today’s farm life.

 

Price:           The Maple Creek Farm is priced at $3,000 per acres or $2,100,000. If desired, the owner will survey and sell by surveyed acres.
